Sheriff’s Deputy Is Able To Thank Man For Saving His Life Following Motorcycle Crash

Thanks to an extraordinary act of courage from a ski patrol volunteer in Colorado Springs, Colorado, an El Paso County sheriff’s deputy is alive. On March 3, Andrew Fodera was riding his motorcycle on Interstate 25 when he hit a patch of gravel that veered him off the road. When he tried to get back on the highway, his front tire trapped itself on the side of the road, causing Fodera to be ejected from his bike.

Moments after the motorcycle accident, Dr. Armand Boudreau passed by and saw the bike lying on the side of the road. Suspecting something was wrong, Dr. Boudreau pulled over and saw Fodera attempt to get off the road. Before Dr. Boudreau could reach the helpless man, a car ran over Fodera’s leg. To make the situation worse, the car did not stop. When Dr. Boudreau got to Fodera, he noticed another car coming and  proceeded to jump up and down and scream and holler until the car saw him and swerved out of the way. Dr. Boudreau proceeded to administer first aid and stayed with him until paramedics arrived.

As of April 25, Fodera is doing well. Doctors said he is improving every day and should be back on his feet soon. When the two men were reunited, Fodera did not know how to thank Dr. Boudreau. Fodera said he did not have the words to express how grateful he was for Dr. Boudreau saving his life.

Fortunately, Dr. Boudreau was there to save Fodera from being run over by a distracted driver. However, there are many cases where people are not so fortunate.
