Memorial Day Weekend Fatal Motorcycle Accident Leaves Man Dead and Son Injured in Provo, Utah

One man is dead after he and his 12-year-old son were involved in a motorcycle accident in Provo Canyon, Utah May 26. Police say a Chevrolet Blazer was attempting a U-turn when it pulled in front of the motorcycle. The man driving the motorcycle did not have time to stop before he ran into the back of the Blazer. The impact ejected the man and his son off the bike. The man was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic brain injuries, and the boy was rushed to a hospital where he was treated and is expected to make a full recovery.

The Provo police announced it was the fourth fatal vehicle accident that weekend. They believed the increase in accidents was due to the increase in the Memorial Day weekend traffic. The Highway patrol were stationed in high-risk areas and reportedly scheduled for 300 additional shifts for the Memorial Day weekend.
