According to KKTV 11, a negligent motorist seriously injured a motorcyclist in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Saturday, January 18. The motorcyclist was riding southbound on Tejon Street just after midnight. As the victim approached the intersection of Tejon and Cimmaron Streets, a 41-year-old motorist driving a Ford Explorer north on Tejon turned left in front of the motorcyclist. According to the police report, “the motorcycle struck the right front corner of the Explorer.”
The motorcyclist was ejected from his vehicle and landed in the middle of the intersection with serious injuries. Emergency crews arrived and escorted the injured motorcyclist to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Colorado Springs Major Accident Unit took over the investigation and closed the intersection for four hours. According to the police report, the “driver of the Explorer was uninjured but believed to be under the influence of alcohol.”
